Wednesday 21 July: After three days of travelling through mountains and desert, riding along Sunset Strip and pulling up outside one of the coolest hotels in LA has a surreal feel to it. The luxury of this hotel makes the perfect backdrop for the whole LA experience. From the hotel you can cruise the Strip as well as Mulholland Drive where Steve McQueen raced his cars and bikes against the police.
You will ride to the edge of the Pacific Ocean andl stop at some great bars and restaurants along the way. Whilst in LA you can visit the House of Blues Club which is right next door to the hotel and spend an evening in the Viper Rooms. If you do not wish to ride then you can take any one of a number of other options available from visiting the coast to touring Universal Studios. The shopping is pretty good too!
Thursday 22 July: After two days in LA we will make our way out onto the Pacific Coast Highway at Santa Monica before heading north and onto one of the World’s most stunning roads. The next two days will be spent on this piece of tarmac at times suspended between Cliffs and the Pacific. The route will continue through small towns and on to an overnight stop that you will never forget. We can personally recommend the massages on offer at this hotel.
Friday 23 July: The second day on Highway 1 is even better than the first with the road getting wilder and the scenery more spectacular. As you arrive in Monterey ready for the weekend's racing you will have just ridden some of the most amazing roads in America and hopefully experienced America at it’s best.
Saturday 24– Sunday 25 July: Our hotel for the race weekend is set in the costal town of Monterey, which has good links including a bus service (free to race ticket holders) to the circuit. This is also the town where most of the teams and riders stay so the atmosphere is great. Cannery Row on the seafront is a popular bike destination and will be the place to be over this weekend.
Rated by many of our clients as the best round they have ever been to, the US Round of the motogp Championship will offer not only great racing on one of the top circuits on the planet but will also offer the best viewing with open access to most of the circuit. Combine this with a great location on the American Pacific Coast and it is not hard to see why this round was so popular with Superbike fans for the long years that MotoGP was away.
While at the circuit you will have your own Paddock Pass giving almost unlimited access to the circuit and paddock this round is the only one where you can get this level of access. The pass lets you wander freely around both the circuit and the paddock. Viewing is from the grandstand is good and is situated on Turn 4 one of the circuits prime viewing areas.
Monday 26 July: After three nights in Monterey where, if you wish, you can have taken some great ride-outs (how about an evening cruise to watch the sun set over the Pacific?) we will set off north once more towards San Francisco. Once you arrive we will drop off the bikes and then be taken to our city centre hotel. This will be the final night of the holiday and we will spend it enjoying the nightlife of this vibrant city.
Tuesday 27 July: A full day to yourself to explore San Francisco, Whether its the sights you want to see like The Golden Gate Bridge or Alcatraz or just to chill out on Haight/Ashbury where hippy culture was born this city is great to spend time slowly exploring.
Wednesday 28 July: Another half day in the city (enough time to shop or take in some more of the sights) before a transfer to the airport and an overnight flight back to the UK.
Thursday 29 July:Flight arrives back into the UK AM
From the desert to the city and mountains to the coast this holiday is meant to give you a real insight into America. With a combination of smooth city hotels and wilderness riding we hope this holiday will give you one of the best riding experiences of your life.
