LA -SAN FRANCISCO - PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY - LAGUNA SECA... "THE HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME!"

2005 US RIDING HOLIDAY

An electric mix of city locations and some of the USA’s best roads. This holiday will see you staying in some of the West Coasts best and most unusual hotels offering you a unique blend of luxury and tradition, which will see you immersed in the atmosphere and culture of America’s Pacific Coast.  From a night time cruise through the lights of Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard to the twisting Highway One with the Pacific rollers hitting the cliff hundreds of feet below the road, this holiday has it all.

From the very beginning you will be enjoying all this great State has to offer.  An airport transfer direct to your first hotel, the famous Mondrian on Sunset, will soon see you relaxing by the Skyline pool sipping Mojitos relaxing into the holiday after your flight.

After a night spent at the House of Blues (next door to the hotel) you will be transferred to the bike dealership to pick up your Harley.  You then have a choice of either returning to the hotel to once again relax or explore LA or alternatively you can take a ride out to the coast.  For those who wish, we will ride to Venice Beach and then running around into the Malibu Hills to a biker bar in the hills.  On this night for those that want to there is the chance to ride Mullholland Drive (where Steve McQueen used to race the Police in his Porsche) with the lights of LA and the Valley stretching away to either side of the road.

After a second night spent in the fabulous Mondrian, you will head out on Sunset until it meets the Pacific Ocean then it’s north on Highway One (The Pacific Coast Highway, PCH) through Malibu and Ventura; all the time with the waves of the Pacific sending a fine mist into the air to your left and the green Californian hill laid out to the right.  After a day cruising past names of towns that will seem very familiar you will arrive in the early afternoon in the Californian Riviera jewel Santa Barbara.  After settling into your luxury room you can take a ride to the pier for an early dinner and watch the sunset over the Pacific.

From Santa Barbara we will head into the vine covered hills on winding country roads with a great stop for lunch and on to a hotel you will never forget!  You will arrive early enough at this hotel to take a ride out to Hearst Castle an extravagate Mansion built by the publishing mogul and Billionaire William Randolph Hearst.  The evening meal at this hotel is truly great set in a dinning room straight out of a David Lynch film.

The next day’s ride will probably be one of the most memorable of your life.  Today we will not ride as a group preferring to let everyone chose their own pace.  There are so many great places to stop and so much great road to enjoy that to ride it as group would not do it justice.  Widely regarded as one of the most spectacular in the World you will not be disappointed.

After this day spent riding The PCH your hotel and base for the next three nights is suitably perfect.  The Pacific hotel is set on a quiet street just off Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey.  The hotel is extremely comfortable and well appointed with hot tubs and open fireplaces.  It position in the centre of town puts all of Monterey right on your doorstep.  Fisherman’s Wharf has a wealth of great restaurants and Cannery Row only 10 minutes walk away sees the big pre race party of race weekend.

Saturday Morning will see you either taking the free bus transfers that run from just outside the hotel to the track or if you prefer you can take your bike in.  Everyone on this package will get the opportunity to ride a lap of the track on race day and part of that lap means you have parking in the centre of the circuit.

Continuing in the same vain of quality the Big Rock Hospitality suites at the track are the very best on offer.  Overlooking turn 4 the upper suites offer far-reaching views right across the track and immediate access to the full motogp paddock.  After final qualifying it’s a quick ride out of the hills and into town to enjoy the madness, which is Saturday night on Cannery Row!!  Bikers from all over the States turn up on all types of bike and the party goes on late into the night.

Race day dawns with a cool ride from the coast and into the hills that surround the circuit.  As you approach the track the atmosphere and temperature rise as the crowds grow.  By the time you park your bike the circuit will be alive with the tension of race day.  AMA races will start the day and set the excitement level for the main event.  With your perfectly positioned hospitality suite there is no better place to view the racing from, just ask Brad Pitt who was in our suite in 2005.

We cannot recommend highly enough Big Rock’s own hospitality package - it is the very best available. With almost unlimited access to the circuit and paddock this package is how hospitality should be at all events. It offers you not only the very best hospitality but also gives you the opportunity to wander freely around both the circuit and the paddock. Viewing is from the unit, which is situated close to the paddock and overlooks Turn 4 one of the circuits prime viewing areas. As this event is always so hot, the covered hospitality unit is a real plus allowing you to keep on top of all the action from the comfort of the unit. As well as all of this everyone on our riding package can enjoy a lap of the circuit on race day. Yes that’s right you can lap the very circuit that Rossi and Co will be racing on, on the same day!

After the racing it’s back to our hotel for a final night in Monterey before the Monday ride out to San Francisco.  Just because it’s the last day don’t expect the ride to be any less great than the days before the racing.  The route will take us once more up the PCH before branching off over the hills of Santa Cruz to Alice’s Dinner a famous biker restaurant situated in the hills to the South of San Francisco on another great biking road.

Your arrival in San Francisco will mark the end of your riding holiday but still with a night left in this, our favorite US city.  A transfer will take you from the Harley dealer to our city center hotel situated perfectly for an afternoon of exploring.

After a final meal in a spectacularly situated restaurant with views you will never forget you will have a final morning to enjoy San Francisco and to enjoy a really great Dinner breakfast before your transfer arrives to take you to the Airport.

If you have been away to the US with us before you will see that we have taken the very highest quality hotels and roads from previous holidays and put them into one holiday.  Although slightly shorter in time than our previous tours this holiday still manages to include the very best West Coast America has to offer.

If you are looking for the very best way to visit the US motogp this holiday will give you everything you could wish for.  The highest level of hotels combined with the best hospitality package available and some of Americas best roads, makes this holiday a must do on anyone’s biking wish list.
