Big Rock Road Trip
This holiday will give you the full US Road Trip experience. Staying in big cities and small provincial towns with four days of amazing mountain riding and several more across Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois, eating grits, chilli dogs and enormous steaks and enjoying your evenings in Blues clubs, nightclubs and at the Grand Ole Opry! Combined with the all class MotoGP at the famous Brickyard where you will have the best tickets and hospitality throughout, every day is a highlight of the tour.
All our hotels are specially chosen for their standards and location and breakfast daily is included. You will be accompanied throughout by experienced tour guides and whilst you are riding your luggage will be well taken care of.
Itinerary
Wednesday 3 September
Fly from London to New York and transfer on arrival to your downtown Manhattan hotel where you stay for two nights.
Thursday 4 September
Free in New York for shopping, sightseeing and sampling the many great bars and restaurants.
Harley Pickup
Friday 5 September
We leave New York after breakfast by coach for Washington to collect your Harley - you have the choice of most of the range – before a rideout and return to the Capitol for an overnight stay in the heart of the city.
Saturday 6 September
From Washington we head out into the Blue Ridge Mountains. From here your luggage will be carried in the support vehicle.
Joining Skyline Drive at the northern entrance to the Shenandoah National Park you get your first taste of this great wilderness. Your route will take you along the spine of the Blue Ridge Mountains and then joins the Blue Ridge Parkway. Along the route there are pull-ins where you can stop and enjoy the magnificent scenery and perhaps take a closer look at the wildlife! Your overnight stop this evening is right on the edge of the parkway near the town of Bedford.
Sunday 7 September
Continue riding south along the winding road via Roanoke and lookout points with such splendid names as Devils Backbone, Rakes Millpond and Rocky Knob. Crossing into North Carolina you continue to Blowing Rock where accommodation is reserved for this evening.
Monday 8 September
Today you ride the Great Smoky Mountains – so called because of the natural haze which hangs over them. Straddling the border between North Carolina and Tennessee and once a part of the Cherokee homeland the scenery is majestic. You will stay this evening in Robbinsville.
Tuesday 9 September
A day free to relax in the beautiful lodge hotel high in the hills or spend "Riding the Dragon"

Wednesday 10 September
Leaving Robbinsville you head northwards today joining US129. The scenic route takes you alongside Cheoah Lake to the Tennessee State Line. Here you join The Dragon, considered by many the worlds’s best biker’s road…318 corners in ll miles! For riding thrills it’s unbeatable. Afterwards you continue to Nashville to enjoy a night out at the Grand Ole Opry or one of the smaller honky-tonks!
Thursday 11 September
A leisurely day’s drive north across the rolling hills of Kentucky, via Mammoth Cave National Park, to Louisville for your overnight stop.
Friday 12 September
Continue the ride today into Indiana to arrive in Indianapolis in the late afternoon. You will stay here for three nights in a centrally located hotel. For a small additional charge, you have the option in the evening to enjoy a welcome cocktail party and race briefing hosted by a well-known US MotoGP race commentator.
Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 September
Transfer to the track by coach for practice and qualifying. On Sunday you will be accompanied by a police escort to ensure a swift journey from your hotel to the Speedway Stadium. Your fully inclusive track arrangements include access to your hospitality suite, event programme, hostesses, breakfast and lunch, complimentary bar and refreshments throughout, closed circuit TV coverage, track admission and paddock access. The evenings are free to enjoy in Indianapolis.
MotoGP
Monday 15 September
After a great weekend’s racing it’s time to leave Indy and ride north to Chicago where you spend your final evening. With “ a tear in your eye” you drop off your bike before checking in to your centrally situated hotel. Enjoy a last night out in one of Chicago’s amazing Blues clubs!
Tuesday 16 September
Free until you transfer to the airport for your return flight to London.
Wednesday 17 September
Arrive UK .
Please note that our standard package leaves Chicago on 16 September. This leaves you with one evening in the city. We recommend that you book an extra night at our hotel and depart on the 17 September.
The extra cost for this night is £105 per person.
